Kinds of tenses 

 

1. Simple present tense

Formula : S + VERB 1 + O

Example :

Siti go to campus everyday

  S   predikat          3C

2. Present Continous Tense

Formula : S + Tobe (am,is,are) + present participle (-ing)

Example :

I am learning grammar in the class

S TOBE predikat   O            3C

3.  Present perfect tense

Formula : S + HAVE/HAS + Past participle (verb 3)

Example :

Wiwit has studied in the class

    S  Auxiliary  predikat     3C

4. Present perfect continuous tense

Formula : S + HAVE/HAS + been + present participle (-ing)

Example :

Suryani has been reading in campus

   S      Auxiliary   predikat       3C

5.  Simple past tense

Formula : S + VERB 2 + O

Example :

Milah borrowed book in library yesterday

   S           predikat       O                3C

6. Past continuous tense

Formula : S + (WAS/WERE) + present participle (-ing)

Example :

They were playing game a computer in laboratorium

  S    TOBE predikat           O                         3C

7. Past perfect tense

Formula : S + HAD + Past participle (VERB 3)

Example :

I had studied TEFL course in the campus

8.  Past perfect continuous tense

Formula : S + HAD + BEEN + Present participle (-ing)

Example:

Rizal had been singing a song in IPM bazar

   S  Auxiliary   predikat     O         3C

9. Simple future tense

Formula : S + WILL/SHALL + Bare infinitive (verb 1)

Example :

I will drive my motorcycle to campus tomorrow

10. Future continuous tense

Formula : S + WILL + be + present participle (-ing)

Example :

They will be watching a film club next week

11.  Future perfect tense

Formula : S + WIIL + HAVE + Past participle (ver 3)

Example :

They will have finished assignment in this weekend

12. Future perfect continuous tense

Formula : S + WILL +HAVE +BEEN+ present participle (-ing)

Example :

I will have been writing introductory paragraph

Example :

I would sent my assignment to email
